Hi, I’m Denise, and I started Gifts Like Me because I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated. What began as a passion project has grown into a business rooted in culture, identity, and joy. Thank you for being here and supporting something that means so much to me. My Story

Gifts Like Me began in 2024 with a simple but personal mission: to create a gift that truly reflected the identity of someone I love.

I was looking for a self-care hamper to send to my cousin in America something that felt thoughtful and celebrated her as a Black woman. But I couldn’t find anything that felt right. Nothing felt personal, meaningful, or representative. So I decided to create my own, carefully sourcing items from small, independent and Black-owned businesses. That one gift sparked something bigger.

I began designing a range of gifts, starting with hampers and soon moving into cushions and accessories that speak to people’s culture, heritage and identity. Everything is bespoke and individually designed, with national flags at the heart of many of our pieces. These aren’t generic, off-the-shelf products. They’re created to reflect people as they really are.

The beauty of what we do is that our designs can reflect layered identities and mixed heritage which, applies to so many of us. Every item is made with care and intention, rooted in a desire to help people feel seen, celebrated and valued.

This is more than just a business. It’s a labour of love, driven by the joy of helping people feel recognised in a way that’s often missing from mainstream gifting.
